What is Dementia with Dignity?
Dementia with Dignity is a compassionate, practical approach to dementia care that empowers families to care for their loved ones at home with confidence, clarity, and connection.

Many families today are facing impossible choices. Full-time care is often unaffordable, vacancies are scarce, and for many, staying at home feels right. Yet, without the right tools, the responsibility can feel overwhelming.

That’s where the Dementia with Dignity Workshop makes a difference.

Through guided weekly meetings, we teach caregivers how to build a partnership of care—creating a calm, emotionally secure environment where both the caregiver and their loved one can thrive. This isn’t just education—it’s a new way of seeing and supporting the person you love.

The techniques shared are practical and rooted in real-life needs, offering a path forward that reduces stress, strengthens relationships, and supports quality of life at home.
The DAWN Flower: Blooming in Australia
through Dementia with Dignity
The DAWN Method® is the model of care used within Dementia with Dignity.

Developed in the United States by Judy Cornish, it is a research-supported, strengths-based, person-centred approach to dementia care. Unlike the traditional medical model—which focuses on deficits and decline—the DAWN Method works with the abilities that remain, particularly emotional awareness and intuitive thinking. Caregivers learn how to respond in ways that foster trust, reduce anxiety, and maintain dignity.

The DAWN Method teaches families how to partner with their loved one in care, supporting them with empathy, patience, and respect, while preserving their identity and sense of control.

At the heart of this model is the DAWN Flower, which represents the seven emotional needs essential to providing truly dignified, person-centred care. These needs guide everything we teach, helping caregivers shift from symptom management to relationship-based support.

Now available in Australia through KazziJai Health’s Dementia with Dignity Workshops, the DAWN Method gives families the tools to care in a way that is calm, connected, and deeply respectful—preserving dignity and strengthening the bond between caregiver and loved one throughout the dementia journey.
We believe that people living with dementia deserve care that honours their abilities, not just their diagnosis. That's why we follow the DAWN Method - a compassionate and respectful approach to dementia care. To explore the heart behind this method, visit the official DAWN Method website.
